India’s BIA Brands Expands Into Skin Care

India’s BIA Brands Expands Into Skin Care

Hyderabad India, and Dubai-based BIA Brands acquired Mumbai-headquartered skincare brand TrueKind, marking its debut in the skincare industry as it builds a portfolio of Indian consumer brands.

Founded in 2021 by Keshav Biyani and Prabhu Karthikeyan, TrueKind offers a range of skincare products including moisturizers, cleansers, toners, oils, and masks.

BIA Brands was founded in 2022 by Sudhakar Adapa and Anudeep Chappa as a platform to build and scale Indian-origin brands globally. So far, BIA has acquired coffee brand Brew and Bliss, flavored nuts company Nut-O-Licious, and blends firm LaKahFay in the food and beverage space.

Founder Sudhakar Adapa said the deal is a key step in diversifying BIA’s offerings and entering beauty and personal care, setting the stage to build global brands originating from India.

BIA also has plans to launch brands inspired by ancient Egyptian beauty traditions. The company recently entered Middle Eastern markets by acquiring rights to Hello! Arabia and Hello! Indo-Arabia magazines. The TrueKind acquisition and expansion into skincare signifies BIA Brands’ strategic efforts to diversify and scale up by targeting high-growth segments such as beauty and personal care.
