Make In India initiative still advancing, but most devices imported

The Make in India initiative, much like China’s “Made in China 2025,” has a decade-long history with notable benefits for the country’s med-tech sector, such as the growth of domestic manufacturing, the rise of dedicated MedTech parks, and Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes that have increased local production capacity. Gunjan Bagla, CEO of Amritt Inc., stated to BioWorld, the program could achieve even greater success if legislative reforms were introduced to further support industry needs and create a more conducive environment for innovation and business growth.
