Irish multinational nutrition company, Glanbia Plc, is intensifying its focus on India’s fast-growing health and fitness market. This push was reinforced through a high-profile meeting between Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Glanbia’s executive leadership team. The discussions underscored the company’s commitment to expanding its operations in India, particularly in manufacturing, distribution, and the Ayurveda segment.
Led by CEO Hugh McGuire, and his team, the company sees India as a crucial growth driver. McGuire highlighted India’s potential in a recent LinkedIn post, citing strong demand for science-backed nutrition solutions such as Optimum Nutrition and Isopure.

Glanbia’s portfolio includes whey protein concentrates, milk protein isolates, and micronutrient premixes. The Indian government has expressed support for the company’s initiatives, as Minister Goyal acknowledged the shared goals of sustainability and public health.
The company’s operations in India are headquartered in Mumbai under Glanbia India Private Limited, while the registered office is located at New Delhi.
Satyavrat Pendharkar, a former PepsiCo executive, oversees Glanbia’s operations across South Asia, Greater China, the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa, ensuring regional expansion.
In 2024, Glanbia’s performance nutrition division contributed significantly to its global revenue of $750 million, with its visibility in India continuing to rise. Partnerships, such as sponsorship of with Indian cricket star Rishabh Pant, have further strengthened its market presence.
