The company has reached a deal with India’s largest music label, T-Series, allowing Spotify subscribers to access the latter’s entire music catalog, including Bollywood and regional movie soundtracks, as well as non-movie albums and emerging artist content. In India, Spotify’s peers will be Gaana, Saavn, Hungama and Airtel’s Wynk. It will also face competition from Apple, Amazon, and Google Play who offer online music streaming services in India.

Germany-based online statistics, market research, and business intelligence portal Statista reports that the revenue from the digital music segment in India is projected to reach $246 million by 2023 from $235 million in 2019.
