Sharwood Wants Americans to Eat Curry on Thursday Nights

Sharwood Wants Americans to Eat Curry on Thursday Nights

Taking advantage of American palates “seeking new and exciting foods and especially spicy/hot flavors, and international cuisines” Adam Buckley, international sales director at U.K. – based Premier Foods told Food-Navigator that his company wanted to tap into this interest by providing a wide range of pre-prepared Indian sauces so that consumers could pop open a bottle of their sauce and pour it over meat or vegetables of their choice.

The bold flavors and convenience of Sharwood’s Indian instant sauces have increased sales in the U.S. by 37 percent last year he said. The most popular of their sauces in the U.S. are the creamy korma, a mild butter chicken, and a tomato-based tikka masala.

Buckley suggested that Americans designate Thursday night dinner as “curry night” when friends, family, neighbors and co-workers can get together to enjoy some mild/spicy Indian cuisine using Sharwood’s ingredients because this “line of professionally prepped cooking sauces remove the stress and the time taken to prepare an authentic curry meal.”
