Revlon, based in New York, will start selling professional care products in India in 2015 and take on global rivals such as L’Oreal, Schwarzkopf and Wella Professionals. The company estimates the market for professional products to be $200 million. These products, used by beauty salons and parlors and also retailed through them, include styling and coloring products meant for hair, skin and nails.
When asked about manufacturing plans of the professional products, CEO Umesh Modi said that initially the company would import them and later on it might consider manufacturing them in India.
