Israel-based South of Salame (SOSA), an open innovation platform aims to set up innovation hubs in at least three of India’s states: Maharashtra, Goa, and Assam. The state of Andhra Pradesh has already signed an agreement with SOSA, to set up an innovation center in the city of Vishakapatnam.
These hubs will provide Indian startups with a platform to connect with peers and corporations in various sectors such as fintech, big data, clean tech, insuretech, mobility solutions, and cyber security, among others.

Uzi Scheffer, founder, SOSA, said, “As a part of these alliances with various governments, SOSA builds an ecosystem of innovators, investors, academics and governments. In the next layer, we connect corporations with relevant technologies and innovations from the global innovation networks of SOSA.”
Currently, SOSA is located at Israel and at New York City where it is has a cybersecurity center. The platform claims to have a global network of 150 multinational corporations and investors, and more than 8,500 startups.
