Redwood City, California-based Informatica, an independent software provider focused on data integration and strategic data management, announced that it is expanding the India Center of Innovation, its research and development facility in Bangalore. This move reinforces the company’s focus on India as a promising market by investing millions of dollars during the next four years to expand this facility – which is already the largest global R&D facility for Informatica – as a key center of innovation
Commenting on the announcement, Anil Chakravarthy, chief executive officer, Informatica, said, “India has been a successful R&D location for Informatica for more than a decade, with over half our engineering talent located in India.”
Srivatsan Vaiyakarnam, vice president and managing director, Informatica India, said, “We are dedicated to building meaningful relationships with our channel partners and system integrators in India, which provides us with the right elements to support the phenomenal growth in technological innovation that the country is witnessing.”
Informatica’s R&D facility in India has played a significant role in some of company’s new products including Live Data Map and Intelligent Data Lake.
Live Data Map provides an enterprise-wide data view and visibility to CIOs, reports Business Standard.
Intelligence Data Lake enables the systematic transformation of raw and mixed forms of data into more insightful and accurate information for effective decision making.
Informatica has over 1,100 employees in India working in various departments within the company such as research and development, customer support, professional services, sales, marketing, partner alliances, IT, procurement, human resources and finance.
