India's Defense Forces Evaluate America's Combat Planes

The Indian Air Force will try out America’s latest version of the F-16 and Sweden’s Saab Gripen fighter aircraft with the advanced AESA radar to select a partner to build 120 combat planes. The deal is estimated at $20 billion. India’s Air Force will replace its ageing fleet of Russian MiG-series of planes by the 120 single-engine fighter jet.

The Indian Navy is testing the American F-18 and the French Dassault for acquiring 57 twin-engine planes for its next Indigenous Aircraft Carrier, reports Business Today. The Navy will consider options for its requirement of twin-engine fighter aircraft, similar to Rafale-36 which India’s Air Force will acquire, only after the single engine fighter aircraft evaluation is completed.
