India will issue request for proposals for 100 microlight aircraft which are used to train air wing cadets of its National Cadet Corps. The Defense Acquisition Council meeting headed by defense minister Manohar Parrikar made a decision to issue the RFPs, reports Defense World.
The National Cadet Corps is an organization that recruits cadets from high schools and universities on a voluntary basis. The cadets are given basic military training and groomed for the army, navy, and air force; however, active military service is not compulsory once the course is completed.
