India Tests Anti Satellite Missile Successfully

On March 27, India’s Defense Research and Development Organization successfully launched the Ballistic Missile Defense Interceptor missile, in an Anti-Satellite (A-SAT) missile test ‘Mission Shakti.’ The A-SAT destroyed an Indian orbiting target satellite which was 186 miles in Low Earth Orbit within three minutes. India becomes the fourth country to have used such an anti-satellite weapon after the United States, Russia, and China.
