Aiming to enhance export competitiveness, India will reinstate benefits under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) initiative starting June 1.
Originally launched in January 2021 and paused in February 2025, this plan reimburses exporters for taxes and levies not covered by other refund programs. It will now apply to sectors such as textiles, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, agriculture, and food processing.

The trade ministry emphasized the use of a digital platform for transparency and efficiency. Total disbursements have exceeded $7 billion as of March 31. The move follows a recent trade agreement with the UK and ongoing talks with the U.S. on tariffs.
