India Predicted to Occupy Fifth Spot Globally in Manufacturing by 2020

Research by U.K.-based RS Components into the Manufacturing Capitals of the World reveals countries that are predicted to drop in rankings while others are expected to increase their positioning significantly. The United States is predicted to peak in 2020 and become the manufacturing capital of the world. The U.S. continues to invest heavily in talent and technology across top universities, and could be creating positions for up and coming manufacturing industry leaders more proactively than any other country.

Nations and companies are striving to advance to the next technology frontier to improve their economy. The advancement of technology and the introduction of AI into production lines will continue to increase productivity and efficiency, resulting in a clearer forecast in electronic manufacturing.

China is slated to occupy second place followed by Germany, Japan, and India.
