Supported by attractive government incentives for local manufacturing, India is set to reach $10 billion worth smartphone exports in the fiscal year ending March 31. Smartphone exports from India have doubled as compared to the previous year.

According to the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA), Apple‘s ‘Make in India’ smartphones now constitute 50 percent of total exports. Samsung stands second with 40 percent mobile exports, while other smartphone players constitute 10 percent export share.
The top five global destinations India currently exports mobile phones to are the UAE, the U.S., the Netherlands, the UK and Italy.
Estimates by Taiwan-based DigiTimes’ research analysts project that India and Vietnam will become the biggest beneficiaries of smartphone supply chain migration out of China.
The Government of India is working to strengthen the electronic manufacturing ecosystem beyond mobiles to boost its global share in hearables, wearables, IT hardware, and electronic components.
