Last week, General Motors unveiled a new ‘Made-for-India’ 1.2-liter gasoline engine that was developed by the automaker’s Bangalore-based technical center and is manufactured at a $220 million plant in Talegaon, near Pune India. The engine will be initially used on the Chevrolet Beat.
“The new engine incorporates engineering changes which optimize the performance for Indian conditions through innovative design techniques,” said Karl Slym, Managing Director of General Motors India.
