Marlborough, MA-based Boston Scientific has appointed Madan Krishnan as the new vice president and managing director for the India Subcontinent region. Krishnan will now oversees Commercial Operations and Excellence across the Asia Pacific. Krishnan succeeds Manoj Madhavan, who is relocating to the United States to take on a global leadership role within the company.
Krishnan brings over two decades of experience leading healthcare businesses in both emerging and developed markets. He joins Boston Scientific from Medtronic, where he headed up the India business. Prior to Medtronic, Krishnan held several leadership positions at AstraZeneca across Turkey, South Korea, and Singapore.
In his new role based in India, Krishnan will be responsible for Boston Scientific’s commercial operations spanning India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. He will also oversee commercial excellence initiatives for the entire Asia Pacific region.
Stephen Morse, Senior VP and President of Asia Pacific at Boston Scientific, expressed confidence in Krishnan’s ability to build on the company’s strong presence in India. He highlighted Krishnan’s deep healthcare sector expertise as an asset for the Indian business and the local team’s mission to improve patient outcomes in India and globally.
For his part, Krishnan stated he looks forward to leading and developing the Indian team, while collaborating with colleagues worldwide. He emphasized continuing to transform lives through Boston Scientific’s innovative medical solutions as a key priority.
The leadership transition comes as Boston Scientific maintains a keen focus on the rapidly growing Indian healthcare market and leveraging its regional commercial capabilities across Asia.
