According to monthly traffic data released by India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, 101,710 passengers took to the skies in May 2017 — a 17.36 percent rise over last year’s numbers of 860,690 for the same month.
IndiGo, India’s largest airline by market share, was at top spot for punctuality with 85 percent of its flights arriving and departing on schedule. It also flew the maximum number of passengers.
SpiceJet recorded the highest seat occupancy, registering 94.4 percent load factor during May this year, reports the Economic Times.
