In March, Thuan Pham, Uber’s Chief Technology Officer, inaugurated the company’s first Engineering Center in Asia. Located in Bangalore, in the southern state of Karnataka, this center will focus on developing customized solutions to better serve both passengers and driver partners in India, in collaboration with on-the-ground operations teams as well as Uber’s global Engineering and Product teams.

At the event, Thuan Pham said, “The talent we see in India and the sheer passion and eagerness of these engineers to build world class products and services to improve the lives of people and cities around the world is remarkable. Launching Asia’s first Engineering Center in Bangalore is a testament to our commitment to investing in India, and I can’t wait to see the innovations that will come from this team as they work to support the phenomenal growth of our business in cities across the country.”
