At an event hosted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, an association of business organizations in New Delhi, India Adewale “Wally” Adeyemo, Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic Affairs and Deputy Assistant to President Obama, said, “One of the things that would help attract Smart Capital is a bilateral investment treaty.” He added that India’s focus on creating jobs for young people amounted to protectionism which leads to lesser jobs and prosperity, reports SiliconIndia News.
Wally said that bilateral relations between U.S. and India had made “a great deal of progress” during the course of the Obama administration., and that this bilateral relationship was critical for the 21st century.
