Waterloo, WI-based Trek Bicycle Corporation launched 34 bicycle models in the premium and super premium category in India’s cities of Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Indore. Prices range from $305 for the road bikes to $2,600 for the hybrid models.
The company also offers a wide range of cycling parts, accessories, merchandise, and riding gear under the Bontrager brand. The 100 percent subsidiary of its American parent, Trek Bicycle India aims to double the network of retail outlets to 26 from the existing 13 outlets by the end of December 2018, said Navneet Banka, country manager, Trek Bicycle India.
Banka added, “The super premium bicycle segment has witnessed a CAGR of 20 percent over the past 5 years. Our focus is to provide a great buying and ownership experience while promoting the sport of leisure and competitive cycling in India.”
