India leads the Asia Pacific market with the highest number of new food, drink and supplement launches with immune system-boosting claims since the pandemic began. While all supplements sales have gone up, emerging ingredients include postbiotics and parabiotics.
Devendra Chawla, CEO of Spencer’s Retail and Nature’s Basket told the Times of India that the sales of supplements have spiked over 40%.
“Nutrition and wellness is the largest business category for us globally and in India, and this category contributes more than $160 million to Amway’s total revenue in India. We are further strengthening the category with special focus on immunity supporting products,” according to Amway India CEO Anshu Budhraja.
“We are already witnessing a 400% surge in demand for our flagship immunity booster, Chyawanprash and an 80% growth in Dabur Honey,” Mohit Malhotra, Chief Executive Officer, Dabur India Ltd, said. Dabur is India’s second largest consumer product company.
