San Francisco, CA-based online course platform Springboard launched operations in India, with plans to produce a job-ready skilled workforce in India. The company offers online courses and one-on-one online mentorship programs in domains such as data science, digital marketing, UX design, and business analytics, among others. Springboard claims 10,000 users from 80 countries the world over. Its major markets are the U.S., the U.K., India, and Australia.
Presently Springboard has two courses in India – one in data science and another in machine learning. Each is for a duration of six months, and is priced at $2300 (Rs 1.65 lakh) plus taxes.
India’s online education market is projected to reach $1.96 billion by 2021. Springboard believes there is a big opportunity in India because the country has an advantage in terms of demographics.
