Having set up its first outlet in Delhi in February this year, South African casual dining restaurant chain Barcelos that serves Portuguese cuisine, aims to expand its footprint in the country.
“The company sees India as one of the biggest opportunities to establish and expand its brand. Barcelos will have its presence in ten metro cities of the country with more than twenty outlets in the next five years,” Rohit Malhotra, Barcelos business head, India, said. Barcelos also plans to open twelve smaller outlets in food courts across India, he added.
All Barcelos outlets are franchise-owned. The company will focus on research and development of menus, supply chain, and marketing and training, noted Malhotra.
