Siemens awarded contracts to build two combined-cycle power plants in India

Siemens has been awarded contracts for the turnkey construction of two combined-cycle power plants including long-term service agreements in India – UNOSUGEN and DGEN by Torrent Power Ltd and Torrent Energy Ltd. respectively of Torrent Group based in Ahmedabad, India.

Siemens will erect the DGEN power plant in the Dahej on the southwest coast of the state of Gujarat. The DGEN power plant will comprise three combined-cycle units and have a total installed capacity of 1200 MW. The UNOSUGEN combined-cycle plant, which will have an installed capacity of approximately 400 MW, will be built in the vicinity of the city of Surat also in the state of Gujarat.
