SEAL SQ Corp, a subsidiary of WISeKey International Holding AG signed a Term Sheet with Kaynes SemiCon headquartered in Hyderabad, India, to establish a joint venture named SEALKAYNESQ Ltd in India. This new entity will focus on building a semiconductor design and personalization center, positioning India as a key player in the global semiconductor supply chain. Unlike traditional design centers, SEALKAYNESQ aims to become a specialized hub for high-security semiconductor solutions.
The joint venture will set up an Outsourced Semiconductor Test & Personalization (OSTP) facility within Kaynes SemiCon’s manufacturing site in India. This facility will offer advanced Wafer/Final Test services aligned with Common Criteria (CC) standards and integrate Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) personalization capabilities. These enhancements are tailored to meet India’s national security regulations and market demands.
SEALSQ will hold a 51% stake in the joint venture, while Kaynes SemiCon will retain 49%. Governance will be equally shared through a five-member board. Intellectual property rights will be exclusively licensed to the JV by WISeKey and SEALSQ, with any new IP developed by the JV owned by the company itself.
SEALSQ’s role is critical in advancing India’s post-quantum resilience. Its portfolio of PQC-ready chips, secure elements, and crypto-processor IPs can help India safeguard its digital infrastructure against future quantum threats.
