Rockwell Collins based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Zen Technologies Ltd. with facilities in Hyderabad, India announced an agreement to combine their capabilities on simulation and training technology and offer these to the Indian military.
Rockwell Collins already has facilities in India focusing on aviation simulation and training products, as well as systems and integration solutions, while Zen Technologies specializes in ground-based military simulation and training systems.
“Our relationship with Zen Technologies Ltd. will open up avenues to further extend our reach in the Indian defense market, and allows Rockwell Collins to offer superior end-to-end solutions that militaries utilize throughout the world,” said LeAnn Ridgeway vice president and general manager, simulation & training solutions for Rockwell Collins.
Jim Walker, vice president and managing director of Asia Pacific for Rockwell Collins said that India was a very promising market for the aerospace and defense sector. The announcement coincides with the “Make in India” campaign aimed at enhancing the country’s prominence in global manufacturing while creating jobs by increasing the flow of new technology and capital.
