According to an article in Women’s Wear Daily, a recent Couture Show was inspired by the look of India’s women. Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture show in Paris this year featured beehive hair with a long braid hanging down the back, rhinestones on the inner corner of models’ eyes and more desi touches. What this means
Not much, in my view. I don’t think this marks any new trend. Perhaps just an outreach for the exotic. But maybe I am wrong and we will see this look catch fire!
