Nashua, NH-based Parallel Wireless, a provider of end-to-end software-based network solutions ranging from 2G to 5G, is working with Reliance Jio Infocomm, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea in India. These companies plan to enhance indoor coverage by deploying solutions such as small cells.
Small cells are low-powered cellular radio access nodes that operate in both licensed and unlicensed spectrum that have a range of 0.006 miles to a few miles and make the best use of available spectrum by re-using the same frequencies many times within a geographical area.
Kundan Das, director, APAC Business Development, Parallel Wireless, said, “The focus is shifting to quality, and telcos are going for small cells to add more capacity.” The company also aims to tap India’s enterprise segment with its connectivity solutions for tailored 4G network.
Parallel Wireless has 400 R&D employees which focus on software and equipment testing at its development centers in Pune and Bangalore. “Around 90% of R&D is managed from our India centers,” added Das.
