Uniforms from Oregon-based Nike Inc will now adorn India’s most revered sports stars.
Based on feedback from athletes and data on the form and movement of today’s cricket players on the field, Nike has created a new and special ODI kit (jersey and bottoms) manufactured from 33 recycled plastic bottles each. The clothes feature a dynamic fit using a four-way stretch fabric which allows the body to move naturally.
Apparel Resources reports that Nike’s Dri-FIT technology and Nike Pro Baselayer help regulate a player’s body temperature, and the laser ventilation holes and breathable engineered knit aid cooling during match time enabling players to stay focused on their game.
Cricket is the most popular sport in India which evokes a nationalist fervor in its fans across the country. India plays league matches as well international test matches and ODIs, which are One Day Internationals where the game is played for a limited number of overs.
