The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center (NMACC) located at the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai is the newest landmark in the city. Its opening on March 31 took the internet by storm. The inauguration of NMACC saw celebrities from across the world, including Gigi Hadid, Tom Holland, Emma Chamberlain, Giovanna Engelbert, Kat Graham, Jack Wright, Lucia Silvestri, Joshua Kushner, Karlie Kloss, Priyanka Chopra, Sachin Tendulkar, Abhinav Bandra and some of the biggest names of Bollywood.
The NMACC is a first-of-its-kind, multi-disciplinary cultural space which aims to conserve and facilitate India’s rich art, culture and heritage through varied art forms. Envisioned by the chairperson and founder of the Reliance Foundation, Nita M. Ambani, the cultural center has three dedicated spaces for performing arts — the 2000-seat Grand Theatre, the 250-seat Studio Theatre, and the 125-seat Cube. It even comes with an orchestra pit that can accommodate 80 musicians at a time.
With a Dolby Atmos Surround Sound System and Virtual Acoustic System, this theatre has a creative seating arrangement built keeping needs of specially-abled people in mind, ensuring ease of access to art for everyone. A special programmable lighting system with 8,400+ Swarovski crystals to create a unique yet multidimensional experience has also been installed.
It is the most technologically advanced theatre in India. 18 Diamond Boxes add an extra layer of exclusivity with an amazing complimentary suite and devoted food and beverage services. The Center is also equipped with recording and projection facilities, along with translation booths.
There is a dedicated visual arts space called the Art House overlooking the Fountain of Joy. The Arts Café is a brand-new restaurant by the Oberoi group and one of India’s most awarded restaurants; Indian Accent is also situated here.
From private screenings to multilingual programming and international theatrical productions, it’s a celebration of art.
