Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at the graduation ceremony of the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, said that while Indian doctors have made a name for themselves across the world, India needs to step up medical research to keep pace with a fast-changing world. He encouraged the graduates to contribute a higher number of publications to scientific journals. “This is not the end of your learning – rather you are now going from a closed and protected classroom, to an open classroom,” Modi said while addressing the 42nd annual convocation of the most prestigious medical school in India on October 20.
