The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at Kharagpur and University of Auckland, New Zealand will partner to foster academic exchange and research collaboration. The institutes will explore opportunities for research in healthcare technologies, new materials, cyber security and Artificial Intelligence.
“The Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration program of India is of specific interest to us. There are several research areas which are of mutual interest to both institutions and we will be deciding on the detailed areas of work leading to exchange of faculty and students,” said Professor Jenny Dixon, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, (Strategic Engagement) at University of Auckland.
The two institutes will further explore possibilities of a Dual Masters and Doctoral program and a collaborative B Tech – M Tech Program. Indian students form the third largest student community in New Zealand’s academic field and are enrolled mostly in science, engineering, and business.
