India just approved$14 billion in new semiconductor investments by Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd.,ย Tata Semiconductor andย CG Power & Industrial Solutions Ltd for Semiconductor Fabricationย and OSATs (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) in India, which will be supported by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM)
1. Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd. with an investment of overย INR 910 billion will set up a ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐ ๐๐ in ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ซ๐, ๐๐ฎ๐ฃ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, as the technology partner. The capacity of this unit will be 50,000ย Wafer Starts Per Month, the measurement of the output of a semiconductor wafer plant.
2. ๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ฏ๐ญ. ๐๐ญ๐., will set up a Semiconductor OSAT in ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐๐จ๐ง, ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฆย in India’s far northeast with an investment of INR 270 billion. The capacity of this unit will be 48 million ๐ie ๐ฉ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ฒ.
3. ๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฐ๐๐ซ, in partnership with Japan’s Renesas Electronics, and ๐๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐๐ซ๐จ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐๐ฌ, ๐๐ก๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ง๐, will set up a Semiconductor OSAT in ๐๐๐ง๐๐ง๐, ๐๐ฎ๐ฃ๐๐ซ๐๐ญ with an investment of INRย 7.5 billion The capacity of this unit will be 15ย million die per day.
