India Now Manufactures CT, MRI and Dialysis Devices

India begins domestic production of sophisticated medical equipment including MRI machines, CT scanners, and dialysis machines –  This development was confirmed by Department of Pharmaceuticals Secretary Amit Aggarwal.

The manufacturing initiative falls under the government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) program which is part of the broader Make in India initiative to reduce import dependency and establishing India as a major manufacturing hub.

Aggarwal noted that the government has increased spending on manufacturing incentives, infrastructure, and ecosystem development, by 44 percent.

– MRI machines
– CT scan equipment
– Dialysis machines

b) Drugs Being Manufactured:
– Penicillin-G
– Clavulanic Acid (antibiotic)
– Rifampicin (tuberculosis treatment, production expected next year)
