Speaking at an event in Bangalore in January to promote the development of human resources in the aerospace sector, R K Tyagi, chairman of state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., said India was facing a significant shortage in skills and it required an additional 1 million “skilled people” to meet growing demand in the sector, due in part to the commitment by the Indian government to manufacture military aircraft n India.
