Swedish furniture giant IKEA is launching a major new phase of expansion in India, having already invested over $1.26 billion since 2018. Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, described this “second wave” as a push toward faster growth through enhanced local sourcing, improved logistics, and a stronger omni-channel strategy.

- Jesper Brodin, CEO of INGKA Group (IKEA’s largest franchisee), acknowledged challenges from evolving US tariffs but emphasized IKEA’s readiness to adapt.
- He noted IKEA’s supply chain is more regional and locally integrated than commonly perceived, which helps mitigate global trade uncertainties.
India’s Strategic Role:
