Movies produced in Hollywood grossed $132 million in the country during 2018, compared with sales of $115 million in 2017.
India’s booming film industry has caught the attention of Hollywood movie studios. Recognizing the popularity of film, “blockbuster” movies are now introduced in India on the same day as they are released to the rest of the world. Foreign films are now dubbed in India’s local languages, improving their popularity in the country.
