Messe München India, the Indian subsidiary of Messe München GmbH an organizer of trade fairs in India, and SEMI, the global industry association have officially inked a partnership agreement to host SEMICON India expositions.
The two companies have co-located with Electronica India and Productronica India both of which are international trade fairs for electronic components, systems and applications, creating Southeast Asia’s largest platform for the electronics and semiconductor industries.
The collaboration comes after the Government’s Indian Semiconductor Mission’s announcements about advancing India’s domestic semiconductor ecosystem.
India is an attractive destination due to its growing market, demand for new electronics such as EVs, and developing supply chain. SEMICON India will help connect the global industry to India’s opportunities. India’s semiconductor demand is valued at $24 billion today and could grow to $110 billion by 2030. Global companies are entering the Indian market, which SEMICON India can facilitate by showcasing the latest technologies and enabling networking.
SEMI CEO Ajit Manocha sees India’s strengths in policy support, talent, and demand. SEMICON India will bring stakeholders together to develop the ecosystem through partnerships.
SEMICON India will integrate upstream and downstream semiconductor value chains and give Indian companies global access. It will also advance growth through initiatives in workforce development, sustainability and supply chain management.Messe München CEO Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer notes that global manufacturers want to diversify supply chains and sees India as a unique opportunity.
