Alten Calsoft Labs, a subsidiary the $2.2-billion French IT firm Alten Group, acquired chip design company Si2Chip based in Bangalore. With this acquisition, the company adds 200 engineers to its very large-scale integration (VLSI) domain and enhances its semiconductor portfolio.
Ramandeep Singh, CEO of Alten Calsoft Labs, said, “The Si2Chip acquisition brings a combination of technical expertise and a strong management team. They will add breadth and depth to our high-end physical design offerings.”
Specializing in engineering and IT services in disruptive technologies such as mobility, big data, analytics, cloud, IoT, DevOps and software-defined networking, the Alten Group has 3,000 people in India and aims to increase headcount to 5,000 in the next two to three years, noted Attia.
