Madrid, Spain headquartered Ebro Foods, S.A. purchased Tilda, a premium basmati and specialty rice brand from Hain Celestial Group headquartered in Lake Success, N.Y. The deal for $342 million in cash included 100% of the companies and assets through which the global Tilda business is conducted.
This acquisition enhanced Ebro’s portfolio of global premium brands in the rice sector, and has additionally ensured a strong foothold in the British market, where it has, to date, had only a token presence.
Tilda is expected to contribute approximately $200 million in net sales and $25 million of adjusted EBITDA for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019.
