Delaware registered Coinbase Global, Inc., branded Coinbase, that operates a remote-first cryptocurrency exchange platform, acquired Bangalore-headquartered Agara, an artificial intelligence-enabled support platform for over $40 million. This is Coinbase’s first India acquisition as it aims to expand in the country.
Founded in 2017, Agara creates virtual voice assistants that integrate proprietary machine learning models to interpret intentions in speech, make intelligent decisions to answer inquiries, and guide individual customers to a solution. The acquisition aims to expand and automate Coinbase’s customer service capabilities by providing new machine learning and natural language processing tools to Coinbase’s engineering team.
Manish Gupta, Executive VP, Engineering at Coinbase said, “We plan to leverage Agara’s powerful technology to automate and enhance our customer experience (CX) tools. Improving our CX remains a top priority for Coinbase.”
