The Aero India Show took place last month in Bangalore where Embraer, the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer signed a memorandum of understanding with Indamer, a corporate aviation organizations based in Mumbai, to provide maintenance support for the Legacy 500, its forthcoming mid-size business jet. According to Jose Eduardo Costas, VP of sales and marketing, the jet is currently in the flight-test stage but certification is expected by the middle of next year.
The Brazilian manufacturer has already provided Indian customers with 18o business jets and it expects the region of Asia-Pacific market to account for 1,035 and 1,580 business jets worth between $32 billion and $48 billion in the next decade. The company also established a parts depot in Bangalore to improve its response time for operators needing spares.
