The Boeing Co., Defense, Space, and Security, Huntington Beach, California, has been awarded a contract for the provision of one C-17 aircraft in support of the Indian government. The contract is valued at $262 million. Work will be performed in San Antonio, Texas, and is expected to be complete by Aug. 22, 2019. Boeing already supplied 10 of these airplanes from its Long Beach, California factory to the Indian Air Force.
A high-wing, four-engine, T-tailed military transport aircraft, the multi-service C-17 can carry large equipment, supplies and troops directly to small airfields in harsh terrain. It has delivered cargo in every American operation since the 1990s says Boeing.
