Italian motorcycle brand Benelli, that is now a part of China’s Qjian Jiang Group, has partnered with Hyderabad, Telangana-based Mahavir Group‘s subsidiary, Adishwar Auto Ride International. The partnership entitles the Indian entity to assemble and manufacture motorcycles, as also import an exclusive range of motorcycles from Italy and Southeast Asia.
Dante Bustos, senior director, chief marketing officer of Benelli said, “In the first phase, we will roll out TNT 300, TNT 302 and TNT 600i super motorcycles. The first phase will become operational by October 2018 and by 2019 the company will roll out twelve models in India.”
Vikas Jhabakh, director of Mahavir Group, and managing director of Benelli India said, “We aim to assemble 10,000 units in the first phase. Once we reach that figure, we aim to go in for production here.” Currently, Benelli has eighteen dealerships in the country, and it will add twenty more in the next twelve months.
