The India unit Becton, Dickinson and Company, has launched a shorter insulin needle for the Indian market, which it claims can reduce pain during injection. The 6-mm BD Glide is for the pen syringe and is available at under 20 cents a piece. The company recently launched another 4-mm needle for vial syringes, at under 13 cents a piece, which can hold lower amounts of insulin.
