Becton Dickinson sells low cost Insulin Needles

Becton Dickinson sells low cost Insulin Needles

The India unit Becton, Dickinson and Company, has launched a shorter insulin needle for the Indian market, which it claims can reduce pain during injection. The 6-mm BD Glide is for the pen syringe and is available at  under 20 cents a piece.  The company recently launched another 4-mm needle for vial syringes, at  under 13 cents a piece, which can hold lower amounts of insulin.

What this means

Since India has the largest number of diabetics in the world and since the incidence of diabetes is growing significantly, it is important to have solutions that can meet the needs of lower middle class Indian citizens. It is good to see that American companies are stepping up to the challenge.
