Andhra Pradesh Seeks International Collaborations for Aquaculture

To improve aquaculture, the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh‘s Fisheries Department held discussions with organizations from Singapore, Netherlands, Vietnam, and other countries, to establish collaborations for knowledge-sharing and technology transfer.

Teams from these countries visited the State and held talks on forging a joint partnership in deep sea fishing as well. Singapore is expected to promote the transfer of technology in aquaculture and in shrimp export, while the Netherlands will assist in feed technology and cold-chain development. Vietnam will get involved in deep sea tuna fishing and value addition products.

The Andhra Pradesh Fisheries Department has already signed a memorandum of understanding with Munhall, PA-based Fishin Company, for increasing the production of Genetically Improved Farmed Tilapia in the State.
