In my decades of talking with Americans living, working or travelling to India, I have witnessed a wide spectrum of opinions and attitudes. I have learned to listen and not to judge. I use their inputs to better inform my team and to better prepare my clients. Hardly anyone is neutral about India. Here is a web designer/content creator who is in love with India (this is her opinion, not mine)
Based on Kristen Fischer‘s video about her experiences living in India, she highlights ten aspects of Indian life that she believes surpass those in many other parts of the world:
- Affordability of Healthcare: Medical costs are significantly lower in India, making healthcare accessible to many people compared to prohibitive costs in Western countries.
- Public Transportation: India offers cost-effective and widespread public transportation, including an extensive rail network, buses, auto-rickshaws, and metros that make travel efficient and inexpensive.
- Food: India’s rich and diverse food culture provides flavorful and affordable options available everywhere.
- Community Support: Indian culture emphasizes strong family bonds and community networks, with families often living together to provide emotional and financial support.
- Resourcefulness: Indians regularly reuse, recycle, and repair items rather than discarding them, resulting in less waste.
- Resilience: Indians demonstrate a strong work ethic that emphasizes perseverance, adaptability, and willingness to work hard.
- Celebrations: India’s diverse festivals are celebrated with enthusiasm, fostering community, happiness, and inclusiveness.
- Low-Cost Education: India offers affordable educational options, with even prestigious institutions providing high-quality education at a fraction of the cost compared to similar institutions worldwide.
- Efficient Use of Labor: The availability of human resources across various skill levels allows for flexibility and adaptability, contributing to India’s booming outsourcing industry.
- Local Sourcing: Many rural communities in India rely on locally sourced food and sustainable farming practices.
Fischer believes raising her children in India is better than in the United States.
