Omnicom Moves More Global Ad Production to India

Omnicom Production, the content and production business of the New York-headquartered marketing group Omnicom, is moving more global advertising work to India and hiring there, Mint reported. Sergio Lopez, the unit’s global chief executive, told Mint that its team in India now has 1,000 employees.

Over the past seventeen months, India has taken on approximately 30% of the unit’s international work volume while making up 20% of its team, Mint reported. Lopez said Omnicom Production is creating more than 100 new jobs in India next year, after growing its India team by 35% over the past twelve months.

Lopez calls the model a “content factory.” Instead of making one television ad for a new shampoo, a team produces dozens of versions of the campaign: a short video for Instagram, another for YouTube, product images for ecommerce sites, and versions in different languages for different groups of customers. Artificial intelligence makes each version faster and less expensive to produce, he said.

That matters because brands want far more content without spending much more. “Client budgets are not growing but the scope is skyrocketing,” Lopez told Mint. He said teams in India increasingly work on campaigns for overseas markets, and that India “has to stop seeing itself as an offshore centre and establish itself as a hub.”

Mint reported that the expansion comes as Omnicom removes overlapping roles in some markets after a 2025 merger. Lopez said some countries are consolidating, particularly in senior positions, while India continues to hire as more work moves there. Omnicom reported revenue of $17.27 billion in 2025, up 10% from $15.69 billion in 2024, according to Mint.

Why it matters. An American marketing group is using India as a delivery hub for global campaigns, not only for work aimed at local customers, and it is adding jobs there proving that Indian can do creative work for global audiences
