President Barack Obama has re-discovered India. Forget the geopolitics. POTUS wants American multinationals to come set up shop and sell their wares to India.
Obama said Saturday that commercial ties between India and the United States will “continue to deepen on the basis of democratic ideals contained in the Constitutions” of both the countries. He and the First Lady are heading to India today to attend Monday’s Republic Day celebration. He is the first U.S. president to attend India’s Republic Day, which marks the anniversary of the country’s constitution following British colonialism.
