“This trip is more about business than politics,” says Gunjan Bagla, founder of management consultancy Amritt Inc. in Los Angeles. “These are two entrepreneurial societies that want to do business together.”
President Barack Obama wants Indians to get jobs and is willing to put up some money to make it happen. There’s a catch though. Those jobs require American partners.
“Let’s make it possible for a young woman in rural India to start a business with a partner in America that will change both their lives,” Obama said Monday during the U.S. India Business Summit in Mumbai.
